Bright Eyed GG

I couldn't resist posting this picture of Gracie. My mom took this photo and I just saw it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Such a cute little look on her face, biting her lip and observing the world through her sweet little eyes. Oh GG......we miss you!!

Sweet little eyes. What a treasure to find a new picture. Any plans yet to celebrate Gracie's life on what will likely be a very difficult anniversary coming up? I don't think we can celebrate Grant's birthday without also thinking of Gracie's birthday too!

She is beautiful. I couldn't believe the emotions it brought out when I would see a picture for the first time of my Mia after she passed away. It was like she came to visit for just a split second. I'm so glad your mom had a new picture for you to enjoy. Hopefully there are some more out there that will continue to pop up.

I think of you often and hope that you are surviving the grief storm. It is a continual roller coaster of emotion. It seems like the longer they are gone the more your heart aches for them. At least for me that was the case. I was thinking just the other day how hard it must have been for you to let her go.

All my love and thoughts.

The most beautiful eyes ever!!! I don't remember them being quite that color. Oh the little goo! How could someone so little make such a big impact on our lives? LOVE HER and MISS HER so much! I hope your mom continues to have these little surprises for us all. I'm sure Gracie is on to bigger and better things and yet it's so hard for us that are without her. I'm thankful for the blessing that she was to all who knew her (and even those that didn't ever meet her). I hope you'll find comfort in knowing that she will NEVER be forgotten.
Love ya,
Leslie

She is such a sweet angel. I have been touched by your blog. I came upon it after one of my twins was diagnosed with HLHS at 20 wks gestation. They were born in September at 27 wks. and we too have a precious angel baby named Ava. . .probably a good friend of sweet Gracies, I would guess!! I was just wondering if you know where I could possibly find that darling cross stitch of the little girl and boy under the umbrella. . .my twins are a boy and a girl and the saying is darling and it would be JUST PERFECT!! Any thoughts on that?? Thank you and your family has been in my prayers. -Casi Blanchard

Just wanted to let you know my hubby and I are coming down for Paul Cardall's concert! I don't know if you'll be attending it or not, but would love to meet you and chat if we're able to. I think of you often and know that Gracie is in our hearts. Hugs to you...

My name is Michelle Filby and I am a heart mom too. Your daughter is an amazing little soul. I was fortunate to have shared time with you and your family in the PICU in April 2008. Your little Gracie was in the room right next to my daughter. My Samantha was having her fourth open heart surgery and was four at the time. I always take a peek at who is in that corner room because that is where Samantha has recovered from two of her four surgeries...her first one as a baby of six days old. I remember our families took up most of the PICU and shared many experiences with one another being in close quarters. I would watch you blog outside of Gracie's room from my daughter's bedside and I was so inspired and witnessed many great things from you and your family. When I prayed for/with my daughter, we would add Gracie's name in too. I have thought of you often and wondered how she was doing. I just came across your blog on Paul Cardall's blog and instantly remembered her name and even face just from walking down to the end of PICU and seeing you and your husband with her. I am just heartbroken for your family. Your daughter and family made quite an impact on me. My daughter would ask how the little baby next door was doing each day she was in the PICU. Your little girl has touched more lives than many will ever do in an entire lifetime. My prayers are with you and your family.

Gracie is beautiful--- just like you! I was so glad to meet you backstage at the concert. I was the Mom that Paul introduced you to that recently lost a baby to CHD--- Stephen. What a blessing Paul has been in many of our lives. Gracie sounds like she was such a sweet girl.

Have been checking in on you guys lots, but left no notes.
Today, I was shocked that it has been one year already that your sweet Angel went to Heaven.

God bless you all. You are an inspiration to all parents.
