Tomorrow Is The Big Day!!

This will be just a quick note because I am busy getting everything for our Gracie Girl to come home TOMORROW!!! She will get her wound vac changed in the morning and her PICC line taken out and then it is hasta la vista baby! She is doing well. She has had a few more episodes of throwing up but that is something we are going to have to learn to live with. I will post tomorrow on our big trip HOME!!

p.s. I'm sure my blogging will now become a lot more infrequent. I will post when I can.

p.s.s. About the wound looking fine now even though the skin graft did not work........we are wondering the same thing. If the wound looks good enough to heal on its own with the skin graft that did not take, then why did we have to have the skin graft in the first place? This is something that I will ask the plastic surgeon tomorrow.

What huge, fantastic news. Gracie is going home!!! We're still praying for you. Even though it may be a little scary to go it alone without a nurse or a doctor close by, I know that you will all be up to the task. Before you know it, you'll be blogging about Gracie taking her first steps!

Gledhill Family,

Way to go Gracie! Welcome Home. You have no idea who I am. I found your blog in a round about way that is too confusing to write about! I have followed your blog faithfully and have cheered and cried for Gracie with each post. What a journey! I have a daughter named Gracie and we also call her "geeg" as her last initial is "g" as well. There is a song that I wish I could figure out how to send to you that I think you would love for your blog. It is called "Gracie" by Ben Folds. Anyway, just wanted to let you know you are in our thoughts and prayers as you bring your sweet baby home. I am thrilled for you! Go Gracie Go!

Michelle, I noticed there are a lot of "Gracie" songs on iTunes, inc. the above mentioned one. I listened to some snipits of some of them and there are some good ones. If you type "Gracie" in the search on the iTunes store you'll see them. Maybe you've already checked it out. Love ya, Tiff's aunt Teri

What exciting news!! this is a great way to start the summer. Gracie must have ordered the weather so she wouldn't have to be too hot on her first day out. Good Luck with each new moment at home. I am sure you will be inspired with the help you will need to care for her.
Lot's of Love!!

Good luck with your trip home! What an amazing (hard) journey you have had so far. I am thrilled that you are able to take Gracie home and finally just be with her in your own enviroment. Quick side note, I just found out one of my neighbors used to be Stephanie's roomate in college. Sarah Switzer-now Neddo. She is my running buddy and asked where I graduated from HS. When I told her Alta she asked if I knew Mark Snow-umm yeah. Such a small world. She was glad to hear that Gracie is doing so well. Tell Stephanie "HI" from her.

This must be a little bitter sweet in a way - so excited to be going home and have made so much progress, but bitter because the nurses will no longer be right there to help and you have to do those feeding tubes on your own (yikes..i just don't think I could do that!) I'm sure they have taught you well though!! Good luck on your big day! We will be thinking of ya'll.
