Here we are, back in our favorite luxury hotel.......the PICU. Dr. Cowley said that putting the stent in was a challenge. He had a hard time getting the stent into the right spot but he did it and it seems to be working well. He admitted Gracie to the PICU and wants her to be observed overnight.
We came in to see her and she was pretty feisty. She was kicking her legs all around and turning her head side to side. She was REALLY bugged that the breathing tube was still in. They sedated her and did an extensive echo of her heart. Dr. Cowley is in another procedure but he will look at it when he gets out and come talk to us about what they find.
He mentioned that they think the reason for her high pressures could be that the tricuspid valve might not be working properly. He said "Can we fix it? I don't know. Will she need a heart transplant? Maybe." We will have to wait and see what they find out from the echo.
Once Gracie woke up from being drugged, they extubated her and gave her to me to hold. (I am holding her right now in my arms, she is sleeping and looks very peaceful.)
It has been nice to see so many familiar faces here in the PICU. It makes being here not as scary as the first time. This is after all, our home away from home. So for now, we are just hanging out. Thank you so much for all of your prayers!!!!

Thank you for letting us know how Gracie is doing. My prayers are going out continually. I Love all of you so much.

Still checking in on little Gracie! I hope that she gets extubated soon and can settle down. It's not fun watching our babies go through this, especially when there is nothing we can do to comfort them. Our prayers are always with you and we hope she gives you a break as well this time around! Take care~
Heart friends,

Always just trying to find the little miracles in all the yucky stuff... 1. She was able to be extbubated right away which is awesome news. 2. If there was something wrong with her heart, good thing she had this procedure today to find out about it before it got worse or was too late, right? Thank you so much for posting. I can't imagine having the right frame of mind to do that while your baby is going through so much, but it sends more prayers and good thoughts your way. Here's hoping that your next post has some good news.
I just saw your posts. I am sorry she is being high maintenance, but boy she sure is cute! We just had Jacob's cardiology visit today but we were at the Orem clinic. Please keep us posted on what you hear back. I am praying for your sweet family. If there is anything you need, please let me know!
Hugs & Prayers,

High maintenance? Whatever it takes! Right? She looks so precious and fragile in that photo, but she's also one tough little cookie.
Keep the faith Gledhill family!
We've been thinking about Gracie and her cath today. Hopefully the stent will work and buy her a few more months before the Glenn. Can't wait to hear results from the echo!
Owen also has tricuspid regurge... and high pressures... that's why he has such a hard time and is requiring all these extra meds and caths.
Prayers for all of you!! Glad she is exubated and snuggly in your arms!
Andrea
I am glad you get to hold her. That is sure a lot better than just watching her lie in a bed not being able to be touched. I sure hope the echo comes back with good news! Heart Transplant? What?
We are thinking of you, hope everything turns out ok. Our pre-Glenn cath was very scarey for us also, but we are home now and Teagan is a totally different guy, just hoping to see his girlfriend doing well real soon!

I follow your blog all the time. We have not met but I love Gracie. She is totally adorable. Your family is always in my thoughts!
Little do you know Michelle, we still follow Gracie just about every day. We remember Gracie in our prayers and she has given our family so much hope for our Gracie. We have fallen in love with her and she is so special to us. She was a light when things were so dark with our Gracie. Praying she gets home soon.
Heart hugs,
Emily and Mike
Thanks for the updates. Hang in there Gracie - I think it will help in the long run that she is so fiesty, just not while there is a tube down her throat. That picture of Tom holding her is so cute. She looks beautiful! Good luck tonight.
Thinking of you!
Natalie, Alan and kids
We have been thinking of you today, hope things continue to get better...she is a little fighter, we have faith in her! Our prayers are with you and your family today.
