Gracie Four Months Old

Our little Gracie Girl, 4 months old! Max actually took these pictures and was able to catch her smiling! She smiles a lot more now. Nothing is very new about her since my last post. I had Kids on the Move (a program that works with babies on feeding and milestone issues) come out to our house and they have given me some goals to work with Gracie on. Our goals for her are: to help her hold her head up better on her own, put small cylindrical toys in her hand to improve her grasp, slowly try bottle feeding, and try to get her used to positive things in her mouth so that she will welcome a bottle easier. I have been trying all these things and she seems to be improving on her strength but the bottle thing is not getting much easier. She has gagged and thrown up on me twice while trying to bottle feed her and get her used to things in her mouth. She just will not suck on anything, it is pretty frustrating. We met with Dr. Su on Tuesday and they would like to put her second surgery off until somewhere in between 6-8 months of age if she will let us. Home Health came out today and she weighed 11 lbs. 7.5 ounces! So she is finally gaining, about 5 ounces a week. She is a little fussy and still loves her crib. Taylor said today "Gracie really loves being alive." and "She really loves being out of your hot stomach!" I couldn't agree more!
