The visit went pretty good, she weighed in at 12 lbs. 14 oz. They are concerned that she is not gaining like she should. They told me to increase her milk slowly over the next couple weeks from 50 ml every two hours to 60 mls. Her x-ray showed that her heart was a little enlarged since last month. Dr. Su felt her abdomen and it looks like her liver was also lower than it should be. He said that this was an indicator that she was not tolerating coming off her Bumex (the diuretic that helps with heart function). So we renewed the prescription and she is going to get it once a day again. I will trade two shots for one dose of Bumex any day!
We went to visit Gracie's little boyfriend Teagan on the 3rd floor. He looks really good and seems like a happy little guy. We put them in the crib together and Brytten took a picture. I will post that later when I get it from her. I also took Gracie into the PICU and talked to lots of our nurses, doctors and heart friends there. Grace was there, fresh off a heart transplant and doing well. It is so weird to think we have to go back soon. The five months of Gracie's life feel like five years. We will probably have a better idea next month when her surgery might be.
So for now we are holding steady and enjoying the summer months where there is not much sickness going around. Thanks for your support, we appreciate you keeping our Gracie Girl in your prayers!

I'm so glad you don't have to give her the shots anymore. How fun to see your other little friends there at the hospital. Keep up the good work. I think about you every day. Love you, Susan
How nice to have one more traumatic thing off her/your list :D Glad she's doing so well.
Hurray for no more shots! We're praying that she gets better every day.
You go little Gracie Jean. A little each day.
Darn, when I babysit her on Friday I was going to play connect the dots on her body.....JK
How great to not give her shots anymore!!! I can't believe you had to do that for as long as you have. Glad she is under such good care both at PCMC and at home.
You are a stronger woman than I... I don't think I could have done the shots. Can't wait to see the pics of Grace and Mr. Teags!
Prayers that she'll gain a big more weight so that they won't start making you give her something ELSE!
Prayers,
Amdrea
We love Teagan and Brytt and fam! He is such a beautiful baby and they are such an awesome family. Poor Gracie, I'm glad that she does not have to have anymore lovenox shots!
I just about fell off my chair when I saw all those bruises!! OOH!! Poor little one! I'm so happy she doesn't have to have those shots anymore!!
We love that little girl and your other kids, too! They are darling!!

What a reflief to not have to give those shots anymore! We are praying that the new meds will improve heart funtion and that Gracie will be as good as new. We are looking at surgery next month as well for Lindsay. She too has to gain a little more before hand though. Fighter, always a fighter. Go Gracie girl!
Love, Suzie and Lindsay
I too was shocked to see the bruises! Poor little girl. How exciting it will be to watch them fade away. Yeah Gracie!
Oh, so sad! Brings back yucky memmories for me too. My dad had to have those at times before and after his surgeries. And, he would bruise really bad too! So happy you don't have to do it much anymore.
I somewhat feel her pain. I had to do the heparin shots twice a day when I was pregnant. I hope they don't hurt her. She may have enough fat to dull the pain. Ouch! I'm so glad that it's at least getting better at each stage. You have to look at what you're doing for her as pure, perfect service. You'll be blessed (and probably already are) for what great lengths you are going to, to keep your sweet baby healthy and safe. I really look up to you, I hope you realize that.
She is such a sweet kiddo, that it will be nice to not have to give a shot. One of these days she will be saying "Where's my HUG!!". I don't see how she can avoid it, with the love that is heaped on her on a daily basis. :-)
