A Record

I just wanted to write a quick update on how Gracie is doing. She has only thrown up once in the last week!!! That is an all time record! It is the strangest thing, ever since we came home from our Cardiology appointment last Monday, she has been improving. Her improvement could be a number of things:
1. She is on Bumex again and is clearing away some of her extra fluid and her heart isn't having to work as hard
2. No more Lovenox shots
3. We increased her feeds from 50 ml to 60 ml every two hours (maybe she was hungry!)
4. She finished cutting her two bottom teeth
5. Her diaper rash went away
Whatever the reason is, I like it. I feel like I have my old baby back. She will at least smile at me again now and she is sleeping through the night again. I got her to laugh again yesterday, it was so cute. It's just a bummer that we got our family photos right in the middle of her crazy fussiness!!! I will post some pictures when I get them back.

Yeah for no puky!! I don't know which of the above worked either...but that is fantastic! I have noticed that when I overfeed Owen (forget to turn off the pump).. he doesn't ever puke. If I underfeed him... he pukes. Doesn't make any sense to me. I'm so happy that you have your comfy happy baby back!

Those bruises on your last post are so sad. I can't believe she has two teeth and Kody has none! Btw, that is so funny that you and Marci had on the same shirt at Swiss Days. It sure was cute!

Cute little gee gee. Glad she is better, like you need anymore stress.
Maybe #6 would be: She loved seeing her old home and all her favorite nurses and it made her happy.

I think you forgot to mention that she loves her mommy so much for the 24 hour loving, tender, patient care and decided it was time to give her a break. Hope you'll both have some much needed rest at night and days full of smiles and laughter!

Good to hear. Gracie is such a miracle. It seems that little girls with the name Grace and have HLHS are just miracles!

Good news! Way to go tough little Gracie! It broke my heart to see all of her bruises in those pictures. I'm so glad your week has been good. Here's hoping next week is even better! We still need to get together for our b-days. I've been craving that flour boy and dough girl!!!
Love, Nat

Very nice to have the food staying in her stomache. That should help her put on some weight. I know it works that way for me... Glad to hear all the good news.

You don't know me, I found your link from Maggi's photo blog. I have just spent the last 2 hours reading your blog. I have been so inspired by your journey. My daughter was born the same day as Gracie. I have truly been uplifted. Your daughter is a fighter and I admire your strength. By the way, I had to give myself lovenox shots my entire pregnancy, those bruises look familiar.

I just found your blog through another. My two-month old daughter, Charlotte, has HLHS. I am always encouraged to see the progress of a baby a little further down the road. Thanks for sharing your story here.
