I wanted to post one of my favorite pictures of my girl on her 1st birthday. I've thought about this day from the day she passed away. Knowing that 18 days later we would be celebrating without her. The day is sunny and warm here. A lovely day for a lovely girl. Gracie, you are my sunshine. Oh how I love and miss you my sweet baby girl.

What a precious girl! Happy Birthday to Gracie!! I am glad to know you are LDS. Not that it makes losing a child any easier, but you know you will see her again, and probably not to far off. What inspiration you have given me to face trials with grace and faith and love and hope. You have gone thru the refiners fire and have come out stronger for it. That I may be as strong as you and filled with faith during my tirals is my hope and prayer. Thank you for your great example to myself and all the others all over the world who are reading your blog, and learning, crying and growing because of you and your family!

Birthday wishes for sweet Gracie and her family. I am certain that this day is of eternal significance to Gracie, and that she truly celebrates it! She was born, and not only received the tabernacle that she will be robed in again on resurrection morning, but she also became an eternal member of the Gledhill family! I wish also for your family to have a sense of comfort aide you in the depths of love that create an aching in your separation.
I did actually think about how this day would be for you when I saw how close to her birthday she would be progressing into the eternities. I had already been planning Bridget's birthday party when she was only 7 weeks old. When the day came, it was so very difficult to think of "what should have been". I would guess you had some sort of preparations already going on for Gracie's 1st, too. I hope you will find special traditions that you can share as a family that you will treasure in the years to come.

I also have a Gracie girl who turned one today. She was born with Down Syndrome, and thankfully her heart is fine. We have many other friends (both with Down Syndrome and without) that struggle with heart issues. We live very close to the children's hospital at Stanford.
I have followed your story for awhile and I wept with you through this whole thing.

Michele- I have been following your blog since you were expecting Gracie. My nephew is Bryson Quinney, and I follow all his heart friends, but I was particularly attracted to your story because I was also expecting my first baby in April of '08. I have cried many tears with you, both of joy and sorrow throughout your journey. I know it can't bring you any comfort, but I wanted you to know that I thank heaven for my blessing of being a mom ten times more daily because of you and your family. I am so blessed to have a healthy baby. I know this isn't coming out right, but I wanted you to know how Gracie blessed my life, and the life of my baby and my family. Thank you!
