Baby Gracie, One Week Old

Our sweet baby is one week old today. She is looking pretty good for what she has gone through. Today is supposed to be a slow day. They are just going to let our Gracie Girl take a rest. She is so sweet. We are in LOVE with her.

Baby Gracie,
What a wonderful little living miracle you are. I am one of Tiffany Snow's old roommates who wanted you parents to know how strong you are and how much faith you have shone to your father in heaven and to those of us reading everyday praying for Gracie...You have inspired me to be a better person and love my little girl more and more. Our family will continue to pray for Gracie and your family...

We're all in love with Gracie too!!!! So awesome to hear that she was so strong while they switched out the machines last night. She just needed a little rest and now she's ready to be tough again. I'm keeping close tabs on your blog and pray for the best these next few days. Many more good thoughts and prayers will keep coming from our family to yours. Happy 1st week - Gracie. We love you--you can do it!!!

So happy to see good news! These little ones are so amazing! How lucky your family is to be blessed with such a special gift from our Heavenly Father. Michele, I hope your recovery is going well. I pray for you to have a quick recovery so that you can have the strength you need to meet each day. And Tom, it is so great to hear from you too. What a special experience it must have been for you to give little sweet Gracie her blessing. Thanks so much for the updates and adding more meaning to our lives.

It seems like today is a quieter day. What a little fighter! My brother-in-law and sister-in-law said they picked the name of Grace because of the definition in the bible. She told me that if their Gracie makes it, it would be by the Grace of God that they would be able to handle everything. I remember just seeing Ryker and thinking,"oh you should not have to experience so much at such a young precious age. Mandy, one of his regular nurses called him pissy-pants because he would get mad and you would know it. I pray things continue to go well.

Good luck to you with everything. Thank you for sharing all of this. My little niece Grace is also at PCMC in the PICU right now. You might know her. She's not a candidate for the three surgeries though. Your little Gracie is darling and I loved the pictures of your older kids seeing her.

I've asked my friends to pray for your family. Exodus 14:13a, 14: "Do not be afraid. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

You don't know me, but I am a friend of Teri Nickel's and she sent me your blog information. I had a daughter almost 4 years ago that was born with a single ventricle and went through a very similar ordeal with the surgery and the ECMO machine. It is very hard to watch your child go through anything hard, but stay strong. Children are much more resilient than we give them credit for. You and your family are in my prayers. God bless you all!

I thank you for sharing your and Gracie's journey with the world. It is so touching to read; the pure love of a child. Though we don't know you, you are in the prayers of my family. I know you are feeling the love of Heavenly Father surrounding you throughout this time...

She is so pretty. What a life she's had so far. What an angel. I am so thrilled that her blood pressure stayed leveled during the switch over of ECMO's. That is about the best sign you could have received to increase hope and life spirits. We love her.

One week old! That's great. She is beautiful. We are always thinking of you guys and praying that little Gracie is able to continue to get stronger! She has a lot of cheerleaders cheering for her here and in Heaven. Take care of yourself and we will continue to call on our Heavenly Father to protect your angel.

You don't know me, I am a friend of Brynn Homer's. I hope I don't come across as a weirdo or something, but I just had to post a comment. Your little girl is absolutely GORGEOUS! She looks so peaceful amidst all of the tubes, tape and monitors. It amazes me. I got so emotional watching Brynn go through what you are going through right now, and I feel like it is repeating, but I am fascinated with medical technology and the miracles they are able to perform. You seem to be such a strong family. I admire that. I admire your testimony of the gospel and your knowledge of God's plan for each of us. I continue to pray for great things for your little princess. You kids are all so adorable. I love the pictures of them interacting with the baby when they first met her. How touching.

I'll wipe the tears off my keyboard so I can write this. Lara Mortensen is my sister and she told me about your blog. I certainly hope that as more and more people hear of your sweet baby Grace and feel the aching that I do...maybe yours will be lessened, even just a little. You'll all be in our prayers.
