out of surgery

The Surgeon met with us and went through the procedure. The surgery was a success~!!! They had problems putting her back together, and her Blood pressure would drop, so they had to open her up twice, and finally put a shunt in-between her rib cage to keep a little more space while the swelling goes down, so that was a big part of the delay. Her heart is also racing a little to fast, so they've put her on medication to slow down the heart. The next 48 hours will be the most critical and they'll be watching her very closely. But the Surgeon was pleased with the surgery and out-come and we couldn't be more thrilled! We feel so blessed to live in a day and age where this surgery is available, and that our baby was able to have a second chance at life. Thanks for all the prayers and positive energy directed our way. Please keep Michele and Gracie in your thoughts and prayers! Posted by Tom

Very excited for you that the surgeon seems so pleased. Turly a miraculous age that allows that little blessing to remain part of your family. Our prayers will continue to be with your family.

What a huge hurdle you have all crossed today...especially Gracie! Tom and Michele, we hope and pray that you will be able to stay strong and have the mental and physical energy to handle these rough, long days. Your story inspires us all and Gracie has become one of my favorite little people already!

Gledhill Family- I am so happy to hear that your day went without anything too alarming. I'm sure you are all on pins and needles waiting out these crucial hours. Without even knowing this little baby personally, I already care for her and hope that she is healthy and strong.

Gracie is absolutely beautiful! Your family is in my thoughts and prayers daily. I didn't realize her surgery was this morning but I am so happy all went well. They called Michelle Rich on Sunday to be my compassionate service sister. You will be in good hands. We will be right by your side Michelle as you embark on this difficult journey with Gracie. We are so glad you are in our ward and we love you and your family.
