(This is Tom posting) I’
ve been trying to figure out a way to write this posting for almost a week, but can’t seem to get it. It’s frankly impossible to write a thank you to anyone without feeling overwhelmed with gratitude for all that we’
ve been given. It’s hard to single someone out when so many have given so much. But I have to write and let my Dad know how grateful we are for his many sacrifices. When he heard about Gracie’s condition, he volunteered to come and stay at our house and take care of our kids. At the time, we thought it would be 4-6 weeks. Obviously, it’s turned into 8 weeks today that we’
ve been at the hospital. Never once did my Dad complain about staying home with the kids. He had to juggle their schedules, keep them fed, clean, and healthy. My Dad is retired and has been a bachelor living on his own for almost thirty years. So for him to give up his life in St. George, and leave his girls (two dogs) to come down to take care of our kids was a huge sacrifice. He worked so hard at our home. We always came home to a clean house that was spotless and vacuumed. This is something I’
ve never been able to accomplish when I’m watching the kids. I don’t even know how to turn on the vacuum! He went home this past Saturday, and trying to do half the job he did is completely exhausting. I don’t know how he did it! Thanks Dad! You’re the best!!Also, thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to help us through this time of need. Our amazing family, neighbors, ward members, co-workers, friends, anyone following the blog, etc., etc.! We’
ve been blessed beyond what words can express by you! Thank you for your faith, support, prayers, and encouragement. The word Miracle gets thrown around a lot these days, but Gracie is the first true Miracle I’
ve personally been a part of. How wonderful we’
ve been able to experience this together.

awww...what a good Grandpa!!!
So glad that little Gracie is doing so well.
WOW! What an amazing grandpa! It is so nice to have family that you know you can count on! I am so impressed that he has it down!
What an awesome grandpa to those kids! Glad they have someone like that to turn to. It really makes you think about where you would be without them. Glad Gracie is doing well. ***PRAYERS***
What an amazing Grandpa!! That is so precious to hear about how well he has taken care of your darling kids!!
What a blessing! (hmmm, I have a lovely Mom - want to play matchmaker? heehee)
My husband's twin brother and wife are having a Gracie in July that also has HLHS (heart defects are apparently a genetic trait for my husband's side). And seeing Gracie and how far she has come has really been an inspiration to them and us all. The only experience our family personally has had with HLHS, the babies have earned their wings. So yes, Gracie truly is a miracle to us all! And what an amazing Grandpa!

Grandpa Gledhill,
As another mom of a "heart baby" I just wanted you to know what a relief it is to have someone at home talking care of the other children.
My mother-in-law stayed at home with my two girls as we were in the hospital with my son. One of the side effects of her service was that she did not get to visit as much as some of the other grandparents, but we made sure she had extra cuddle time once Jacob got home! Knowing the girls were safe and loved helped me not to worry and to better take care of our Jacob.
Your sacrifice is such a blessing to your family. Good job Grandpa!
Hugs & Prayers,

Sounds like a great grandpa! I am sure the kids loved having him there! Glad Gracie is doing well.
Wow! What an un-selfish wonderful example of a man! It brought tears to my eyes reading all that he has done. I can't believe that on top of all that he was doing, HE VACUUMED! What an amazing Grandpa. You are so blessed to have him.
We add our gratitude to that of Tom's and Michele's ... Rhett has truly been amazing through all of this and has taken such good care of the kids AND the house ... I want him to come stay with me and clean! Thank you, Rhett, for your sacrifice and love ... you are greatly appreciated!
Love, Arlene and Grant

Three cheers for Grandpa Gledhill! Family is such a blessing and we're so glad you've had so much support through this trying time of your lives. Now that Grandpa is home, please let us take the kids and help out anyway we can. Call me and we'll schedule it! You guys are amazing!
Love,

What a wonderful dad. I'm glad that you appreciate him.
I just had to jump in and say this doesn't surprise me at all. Rhett is such a wonderful person and he is always so loving and thoughtful! When we thought my mother (his aunt) wasn't going to make it, he jumped in his car and drove from St. George to Anaheim to see her. You have a wonderful family and we are so glad to see that Gracie is making such good progress. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Betty Ann & Aunt June
