Sleeping Beauty

Little miss bubbles. This is how I found Gracie when I came in this morning. She always has bubbles on her mouth, so cute! (At this stage, I think EVERYTHING she does is cute). She had a great night and is doing really well this morning. They are weaning her off the milrinone (blood pressure medication). And then they will work on weaning her off the high pressure nose cannula. Those are the only two things keeping her from going to the third floor. All the nurses keep coming in saying how amazing Gracie is. She is truly our absolute MIRACLE baby. I am so grateful for her. Our family is so lucky to have been blessed with such a special spirit. Or should I say 4 special spirits!

p.s. I forgot to say Happy Six Weeks Old today!!

Oh... I love the bubbles too!! It is a huge milestone to get off the milrinone to WAY TO GO GRACIE! I hope she gets rid of the high pressure O2 as well... that's like driving down the freeway with your head out the window...not fun. She is definetly a miracle baby.

Yeah Gracie! There are people all over the country cheering you and your family on. It has been such an inspiration to see you overcome so much. You give me hope for my soon-to-be-HLHS-baby. I will tell him all about you and how he needs to be as strong as you've been. You will always be in in our prayers.

Love,
Mindi

Her bubbles are sooo adorable! She is such a beautiful baby! I am so happy she is doing so well! I have to tell you what my husband said to me... We have been following your blog from the beginning ( I am Brytt Pettits, Sister in laws best friend-the one that made the blanket for gracie) anyway, Gracie is in all of our prayers and has really become a part of our family, so when we were talking about comeing back to utah for the summer he said, Yeah and maybe we can see Gracie! I just thought that was funny! I said honey, they don't even know us, and he said, Oh, yeah! You continue to touch us every day! Thank you!

She seems to change just a little every day now. She looks comfy and rested and totally deserves it after her long battle. Can you get any cuter than with those little bubbles on her lips? It's so stinkin' cute! Michele, it's so great to hear that you feel some of the stresses gone and that you have a big smile on your face. You have been amazingly strong through all of this and we all pray that your days will continue to get brighter and brighter full of rocking, kissing, snuggling, and bonding. 3rd floor watch out...Gracie's on her way!
Love ya tons,
Leslie

Gracie truly is a miracle and beautiful child of God. What a wonderful story she will hear someday of her fight and determination to beat the odds! She is precious and we thank you for sharing her journey with us. What a blessing she's been in our lives.

I have followed Gracie's progress since I heard about her from my daughter, Lindsay, who works with Gracie's daddy. You have all been in our family prayers every night. It is easy to see the blessings she has brought to so many people in her short life. She's a little fighter. I got a pedicure today and all the while thought of her little painted toes! She's a wonder. Thanks for sharing your family with us.

I'm so glad to hear that she is making such great progress. What an amazing child you have been blessed with! It was good to meet you in the PICU the other day. I'll keep my fingers crossed that she gets to move to the floor soon, as it is so much nicer up here for both mom and baby!

Take care,
Michele and Taryn (DORV)

Way to go Gracie! I'm so glad to see you breathing on your own. I know you don't know us, but we have a few distant acquaintances. I must admit I cried my eyes out the first time I read your ENTIRE blog. My heart goes out to your whole family. We check up on you every few days and you are always in our prayers. We're so happy she is doing so much better.
