Movin' On Up

Within the next hour they are moving us up to the THIRD FLOOR!! They decided since her surgery isn't until Tuesday that they had no reason to keep her in the PICU anymore. So now our 24 hour watch begins. There is only one nurse to every 4 babies up there. So we will have to see how things go. At least you can eat in the room, talk on your cell phone, watch tv, have more than 2 visitors at a time etc. So we will post later with some pictures of our new digs.

The only thing new for Gracie today is that they have increased her calories to 30 calories per ounce and she got her wound vac changed, they have also stopped her Adavan (anti-anxiety medication). It is looking better but does look like it will need a skin graft to heal completely. That surgery has been moved to Tuesday afternoon.

We will post later!

One step closer to coming home! Hopefull the skin graft will help her wound to heal faster and then you will be on your way home with your beautiful baby! She looks more and more like a Gledhill-in her picture before the swallow study-you could sure tell she's yours! What a cutie! XOXOX

End of school events have kept me away, but I'm so glad to hear that things are going well for your little GG! She is such a strong girlie!

I haven't posted a comment for too long - sometimes you just don't know what to say. However, we read your blog every day and we pray for Gracie and for you. So glad that Gracie is healthy enough to move to the third floor and I am with you, it seems like you have been there forever. I remember the words of my wise mother in law (when I was complaning that my every minute revoled around taking care of small children - one baby after another)that the time would pass much quicker than I thought and it did. I haven't changed a diaper in over 4 years. In spite of the work of babies, I do remember that there is nothing sweeter than a baby and the love we feel for them. We love you and appreciate your and Gracie's example of the great value of each day of life with those we love.

I'm so happy to hear that you're finally movin on up!! I'm so sorry to hear that she needs yet another procedure done... can't Gracie get a break?? Hopefully after the skin graft she'll be DONE and can come home... for a couple months at least! :)

The Glenn is "supposed" to be easier. I pray it will be for you!

What great news! Enjoy your weekend in your new home away from home. We pray that she will be able to recover quickly from her skin graft and get out in the sundshine soon! Once the graft procedure and wound vac are done, what is the criteria that she needs to "pass" for them to discharge her from the third floor?
