Here's my
Geeg on her 7 week birthday. (My sister coined the name
GG and then we shortened it to 'the
Geeg'). She is doing a lot better today. She is not running a temperature. Her heart rate and respiratory rate are much better today too. They are giving her two different antibiotics that will target her exact infection. She seems to have responded to them well. They have come down off her high flow nose cannula from 5 to 3. The next step is going on just a regular oxygen flow nose cannula like she was on before. She is gaining weight and weighed 9.2 pounds today. They took her to '
Flouro' and took an x-ray of her abdomen to see if they could find out why she is breathing so fast. The x-ray showed a partial paralysis of the left side of her
diaphragm. This will supposedly self heal over the next few weeks. Apparently it is pretty common to nick the nerve during surgery. At least we have an answer as to why she will continue to breathe fast. So, let's get a move on
GEEG, let's go to the third floor!! I have to admit, I'm getting a little tired of this joint.

She is so adorable, glad to hear she is responding to her medicine. I can't believe she has gained that much weight that is so great! Hopefully you will be moving soon...change is always good.
She is lovely! I am glad things are improving. I hope she tolerates the regular flow canula.

She is so beautiful!! 7 weeks old, YAY!. It is amazing how her body is able to handle all of the things she goes through. What a fighter. I'm so glad she is slowly but surely on her way home. She looks so much like Max in this picture. Our continued prayers are with you all.

Wow...what a beautiful and patient little girl! The same can be said for the rest of your family. We hope your big move to the 3rd floor is soon!
My family has been following the progress of you sweet little girl for a few weeks now. My three year old even asks to see baby Gracie whenever I'm on the computer. I'm sure you have no idea how many people are hoping and praying for your cute family. Thanks for touching our lives.

She is looking so good, Happy 7 week birthday!
They nick Mariska's nerve during her first surgery too. The day it finally started to work scared me. She was screaming and her chest looked like her heart wanted to jump out. I took off her shirt and sure enough both sides were going in and out. I just sat and cried it was such a happy moment, to know your little ones body is starting to act like it should. It just takes time.
Our thought and prayers are with you.
