Update #14

Dr. K came in and talked to us for quite a while. He expressed his disappointment that this has happened. He does not know why. He said he knew something was wrong right away when he unclamped the lines that went to the heart and it did not respond like a healthy heart. He said it could've been a problem with the transplant but he does not think so. He said it could be her body rejecting the heart, we will find out when we run the cross match on the blood. He thinks we may have gotten a bad heart, he just doesn't know right now. He said 'this is not what Gracie needs'. We have to hope that her heart will recover with rest. She could be on ECMO anywhere from 5-7 days. I don't know how my posts are coming across, but this is very serious and obviously NOT good news. I just wanted to clarify that. We have not given up hope, but the odds are against us again. We should be able to go see her in about 20 minutes. We will pray for another miracle and if the Lord has it in store for her, he will grant us another miracle.

I pray for the Comforter to be with you and your sweet family. We have come to love Gracie and have prayed many prayers for her and her heart after learning about her through McKay's blog. Today we join you in asking for miracles and hope you feel the strength of strangers that care.

We used to be in Kate's (Wiser) ward and have been following Gracie's progress from the start. Our family is praying our hearts out for little Gracie & her special heart, and that you and your family will have the comfort & calm you need to make it through this difficult trial. You are an inspiration to all of us mothers and Gracie has made us love on our babies even more. We pray for your miracle to come.

This is so not the way I was hoping this was going to turn out. Your posts are coming across as very serious, but it is so hard to imagine Gracie not pulling through. She has done it so many times before and I just know if there is a miracle to be had, she will find it. We will continue to pray for her and your entire family. Even with all the she is facing I just know she can do it. She is so amazing, as are you and Tom!

I remember reading Gracie's blog back in the "beginning" and you were so sure that you were going to lose her... and she surprised everyone and pulled through. We can only hope and pray that she will do so again if it is her plan. It is so very difficult... in fact, I'd venture to say IMPOSSIBLE, in the midst of the trial to see the greater plan... but this is ALL part of that bigger picture. I KNOW that is not a lot of comfort right now. But on the other side of such a trial, I have to keep sharing my testimony that it is true and I know you will be carried through this to the other side as well. As for Gracie, rest assured that angels are attending to her and she is so very close to her Father in Heaven. She will fight if that is what He wants her to do. Be strong... our family is with you in spirit and praying constantly for Gracie.

We are so worried. We had another family prayer for you tonight. If it was a bad heart, can she go back on the list? Is it possible she can do it again? Is it possible that it will recover with rest? I hate to ask these questions, but it is what my mind is filled with. Please know we are thinking of you and are praying so hard for you.

I have been gone all afternoon but my sister called me with updates. My heart breaks for you. We are all praying for you to get another miracle. I know that things are overwhelming for you but I am curious if she could be a canidate for the "Berlin Heart". I know that it has been used to let the heart rest and recover in some of the studies I read when we were preparing for Kaidence. My thoughts are with you and I know that the Lord will continue to guide your family. I pray that you may feel our Heavenly Fathers loving arms around you.

This is definitely the scariest roller coaster ride of my life and I really want off of it soon. Sweet Gracie...I know that she is fighting as hard as she can right now. She is in the best care in the world. We have to just keep up our faith that miracles can continue to bless her life. Please know that you have a sold out stadium of people praying for Gracie and sharing in your worries right now. We love you so much. Let me know if you need any help at home with the kids so your family can be up with you...anytime day or night, I'll make it work.

Little Gracie has captured the hearts of so many people who have never met her- including ours. I have had many phone calls today from people wondering if I'd heard the latest news of Gracie- all strangers to you as well. So many people are praying for her and for your family. I hope that you will all be comforted through this very difficult time.

Gracie was blessed to be born to such a wonderful, faithful, loving family, and I'm sure she fight to stay if that is part of Heavenly Father's plan for her.

What a roller coaster of a day for emotions! Like others have said, Gracie is in the best possible hands. She is so near to Heavenly Father. She has amazed us tremendously throughout her life and lets just hope that she has one more huge surprise in store for us all! Hang in their Gledhill's and as all of your friends, far and near, strangers or not, continue to pray for you and your sweet baby, I just KNOW things will work out. Keep fighting Gracie, please. We love you!

I couldn't be more sorry that you have to face Gracie in the PICU on ECMO again. It's hard to see how all this is fair. Gracie has stumbled every step of the way, but has always gotten up. I hope she has one more fight left in her. I would love to see her pink, smiling, growing, and happy. Whether that happens, is up to our Heavenly Father and Gracie.
Our prayers are always with you, Tom and Gracie.
