Tomorrow Is The Day

We just got done talking to Dr. K. He told us that he has one procedure in the morning and then he will come down to do Gracie between 11:30-12:30. The plan is the same as yesterday. They will get her in the most optimal condition by turning the ECMO flow down gradually and get her used to working a little harder on her own. Then the surgeons will open her up and take her cannulas out (the cannulas again are the two tubes that are hooked directly into her heart that pump into the ECMO machine). I asked him if he has had patients die while taking the cannulas out before and he said 'yes'. But it is also a possibility that she will tolerate them being taken out and that she will be extremely critical afterwards and if she does survive their removal, that tomorrow night would be very tenuous. Again, we are just holding on, planning for the worst and hoping for a miracle. Thank you for your continued prayers in our behalf. We love you sweet GRACIE!!

Tom and Michelle,
Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with you. We have a "constant prayer" in our hearts for your sweet Gracie girl. We hope you get your miracle and know the Lord will bless you with strength if that is not His plan.

I had an opportunity to work on the cleaning crew at the San Diego temple in the middle of the night last night. I had to vacum all the sealing rooms. It is an unusual experience to be alone in those rooms. The whole time I was thinking of baby Gracie and her family-talking to the Lord!! It was great!! The spirit was very strong and comforting!! All our love is being sent your way tomorrow!! It's amazing to feel the kind of love this situation has created-I feel grateful to feel a small portion of that. We will be thinking of you-all our love-Shari
