Good Lookin Gal
I got here this morning and my first thought was how good she looked. My nurse today had not been here for a couple of days and we both talked about how we thought she looked a lot better today. They have trialed her off the ventilator and she is currently breathing on her own with a little help. They give her a one hour trial (I didn't realize it was that long). These exercises are basically her 'workout' to get her used to having to breathe on her own. So when they are ready to take her breathing tube out, she will know how to do it. Also, they took her two chest tubes out--YAY! So now, she only has two PICC lines, an art line, a breathing tube and a feeding tube. Not to shabby! They also did an echo cardiogram this morning to check on the blood clot and we are waiting to hear back. So far, so good.

I have been reading your blog since day one, thru my cousins baby Kaidence. Gracie is such a sweet girl. You and your family have been such a great example and so strong throughtout this trial in you life. Our family prays for Gracie and your family and we hope she will be able to come home soon. Congradulations on the huge steps you have over come and the many more I hope you will.
EXCELLENT GRACIE !!!!!
You go girl. You are such a miracle little sweet girl. Keep up the good work.....

I knew she could do it once she got a good night's sleep! YAY! YAY! YAY! Thank you for posting all the good and the bad. We all just cherish the good news so much. Can't wait to hear that the ventilator is out. When Allison asked about her yesterday I told her that Gracie had had problems with gagging and throwing up. She said, "Well, I would gag too if I had a tube down my throat and one down my nose!" It's really amazing how strong she is. I was thinking this morning how hard Gracie is working to stay alive and to make it through with her little broken heart, yet here I have been blessed with a good heart and I'm not doing much to take care of it properly. She really has inspired me to start to work out a little more to make my own heart a little healthier. If she can go through so much torture everyday to get better, the least I can do is get on my dang elliptical for 30 minutes each day. Thanks for the motivation Gracie! Your life has not only been a beautiful miracle to witness, but you continue to make all of us better each day. Can't wait to see you again!

Hey good lookin'! I am so glad to hear Gracie is improving. I know we gaged Jacob's improvement by things disappearing from being attached to him (including all the machines to give meds). We keep thinking of your family and hoping for the best!
hugs and prayers,
Christina
What a great day it sounds like you are having. The ups and downs from day to day, even hour to hour are incredible - but I love that she always comes out on top! I also love the 'tube' count, as it is another sign of her progress and getting into your arms! I heard a song on the radio recently that is very sweet and it made me think of you. It is by Plumb, called 'In My Arms' (if you listen to it, make sure you get the slow version not the fast remix). When I heard it I felt the mother's love so strongly the way I feel it from you in your posts. Thank you for sharing so much with everyone. You are an amazing lady. P.S. I know my mom is bringing dinner over tonight, I wish I could!
I am so impressed with the progress that Gracie has made. Before you know it you will be moving her to her real home.
We are glad to hear that she is doing well!! She is so precious!!
Hooray for good news!!! I'm so glad she's looking and doing better. Reducing the number of tubes coming out of your little sweetie has got to be a wonderful feeling. She's definitely a fighter and we're so glad to hear she's winning - even if it's one battle at a time. Have a wonderful day with your good looking gal!
Love,
The Laurences
I was so relieved to hear some good news today! I guess last night was just a fluke... I will be hoping for more good news and less tubes! We love you all!
