Quiet Is Nice
Things here today are good. She is improving little by little, hour by hour. She looks different to me today. She has lost a lot of extra fluid off her body. Her face looks smaller and I can finally see her little double chin that she used to have right after she was born. They are taking her off the nitrous oxide and tweaking her meds to compensate for that today. She gets a 'beating' every 6 hours where the respiratory therapist comes and suctions her breathing tube out and then literally thumps on both sides of her chest for 5-10 minutes each side to get all the extra mucus out. Her left lung is still clogged up. Oddly enough, she seems to like the chest percussions, it's the only movement she gets in her day. Otherwise she just lays there 24/7 with an occasional turn in her bed by the nurses. So we will just sit here and enjoy another boring day!

Glad she is still improving. Enjoy your uneventful afternoon!

We love the uneventful news!

Yeah!!! I remember those beatings well, my baby seemed to love them, she would be all anxious and uncomfortable but then the beating would start and she would always fall asleep! My baby had the same problems with her lungs but gradually they got less and less mucus when they suctioned her and her lungs got better every day! Hang in there, I am so glad that today is a good day for little Gracie!

We are so grateful Gracie is doing so well. Every day as soon as the kids get home from school they are anxious to hear the updates. We are glad things are slowly improving, what a blessing.

I don't know what I would do without my daily "Gracie Fix." Thanks for keeping us all updated even if it's just another routine day--I'll take that over last week anyday! Give Gracie a kiss and squeeze from me!
Leslie
Oh sweet Gracie!!! What a sweet girl!
I did a post on my blog...hopefully those that read it will pray for Miss Gracie too!
Tami
Your heart needs a little break from all the stress too! I'm glad these 'boring' days are here, for her sake, and for the rest of your sweet family. We'll just keep on praying for miracles like these. :)
"Things here today are good". Sounds wonderful after the last many days. Simple words but they say so much. "Boring" is music to my ears. Hang in there guys! Go Gracie!!
Prayers are being answered! Glad she looks so good today. I bet she does love that human contact!
We are so happy to hear that she is doing well. It sounds like we will see you tomorrow. Kaidence has her Cath lab and stint placed in her Left Pulmonary Artery early in the morning and then we will make a stop for the day and night in the good old PICU.
I am happy that Gracie likes her "beating" Kaidence hated the one they do on their sides. We had to take her home doing chest PT and suction. I think she hated the chest PT worse. We hope you have a great night and we will see you tomorrow.
With Hope and Love,
Shauntelle and Kaidence
Still checking this every day and so glad to hear she is doing as good as possible. Hang in there-miracles do happen :-)
I was looking at a friends blog and saw her post about your sweet little Gracie. I will keep her and your family in my prayers. She is beautiful!
It's amazing what a prayer can do and a little spa treatment! Way to go Gracie girl! We are so thankful you are improving and we pray that you will continue to stay strong. Max We think Gracie deserves you to read her another book. Can't wait to see what story you'll read her next!
We love you,
The Bunker's

~still praying!
I am so amazed by your sweet little Gracie girl. I read about her on my friends blog and had to come see your site. Thank you for your postings. She is a beautiful little angel and is such a strong fighter. I am so emotional right now after reading your blog and will keep little Gracie in my prayers.
I asked Collin if he wanted to look at my blog (since there are pictures of him on it) and he told me, "No, not really, I just want to see Gracie's blog. I am just so worried about her." And then he just stared at her picture for the longest time. Seriously, Gracie is extra special - we can just sense that from her, even through your blog.
I am happy to hear you had a "boring day" and that she is improving litle by little, hour by hour. We love that Gracie girl!!
Great new to hear she is still improving. What a little miracle!! She is so beautiful.

I have been checking your blog so often lately and praying for baby Gracie. She is such an amazing and beautiful baby! My daughter, now 10 months old has HLHS, and has had her Norwood and Glenn, and is doing well so far!! So amazing! Our Mary Clare loved her chest "beatings" as well! What miracles these babies are! We pray for your sweet family daily and will continue to do so and watch little Gracie fight! She is such a strong baby girl. I feel like I already know and love her.
