She's Closed!!
It was a success!! They were able to close her sternum and sew up her skin. He said it may not be the prettiest closure (because she was so swollen), but it went well. We don't need to worry about a pretty scar until her third surgery! The next 24-48 hours will be critical to see if she continues to tolerate her new closure. Thanks for all the prayers, Gracie appreciates them! I will update later if there is anything new going on.

You don't know me but I found your blog from a friend and we have been checking daily on Gracie's Progress. What an amazing beautiful little girl! We have been praying for her. She seems to have a fighting spirit! :) I just wanted you to know that there are people out there that you don't even know that are your biggest fans and want the best for Gracie and your family. I was so overwhelmed and started crying when I heard her story and want you to know that we support and love her so much. As a mother of a little girl myself I am amazed at your strength! We're so happy for the good news. We actually found out first from Max when we picked him up just now. It was the first thing that he said when he got in the car! He is one smart kid about all the medical jargon. One more step taken today toward going home...we pray and hope they keep on coming.

I just had a big sigh of relief!! I have been thinking about her all day. Yeah Gracie. We are so glad that everything went well and she is doing great. We will continue to pray that Gracie continues to do well.

That is wonderful news! In fact I was thinking today, I'm glad your NOT going to Disneyland with us...only because that means you are to busy taking care of your sweet little Gracie! She is such a fighter and has amazed us all. We will keep praying for her strength and for yours as well. We love you guys, and will miss you standing in line with us while my kids are twirling around the bars-kicking people in front of them, paying $5.00 for a D.C. etc.--but hey it's all worth it-right? It is the happiest place on earth! Let's get baby Gracie feeling better and next year she can get her first set of ears!
I was able to put Gracie's name in the Dallas temple tonight. We continue to pray that she has a great recovery!

Such exciting news!! I saw the post yesterday but couldn't comment with Isaac, Ainsley and Olivia crowding me to see the news. I guess some of them don't know they can't read yet, but nonetheless, they want to see what is going on with Gracie and want to hear everything. I hope it is a boring weekend for all as she rests and gets used to her new situation!!
