Gracie, Two Weeks Old!

We tent a little white cloth over her head so she can have some shade to sleep better. The bright lights are on 24/7 and it keeps the babies awake sometimes.
I wanted to write a cute comment my son Max said yesterday. There is a fountain type pond in the front of PCMC that people throw coins into to make a wish. He said "Mom, Did you know the more money you throw in, the more your wish will come true?" He said, "I've thrown in two quarters and two pennies." "I think it's going to work!"

She is gorgeous! Marci was so touched and so emotional after seeing her today. I love her cute little nose. Your son Max sounds like such a sweetheart! Thanks Gracie for your gift to me of making me be a better mom. Best of luck to you all tomorrow when they take her off the machine.

On our way to the hospital Wednesday, Max and I stopped at 7-11. I dropped a penny and Max picked it up. I said "Max that brings you good luck". He said "Maybe it will help Gracie pass her trial today".
She did pretty good off ECMO that day, maybe it was the penny (and a few prayers). Lets all look for pennies tomorrow! Fight as hard as you can Gracie. We love you. Aunt Stef

I was linked to your blog from Teagans, and I just wanted to say that my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. I admire your strength. She is so beautiful, the pictures you have done with her are adorable and I hope you will be comforted whichever way she may go!

Sorry I deleted my previous comment... I didn't know how to say what I feel in my heart. And I still don't except that she is so beautiful! Such a precious baby! Max is clearly a special boy and sweet, sweet brother. Thank you for sharing her story with so many of us, we are learning great things from your family. Our prayers are with you tonight.

What incredible faith! Your kids are just amazing, every one of them. I worry so about them, and just pray with all my heart that Gracie's heart is strong and that you have the peace that your family needs.
Hugs and prayers!

She is SO beautiful! Last night I was thinking how I could feel her little spirit through the internet. She must be one of the truly special spirits! I wish I would have been led to your blog under different circumstances, (I'm good friends with Krisi Mayer and saw a post on her blog). But oh, how grateful and honored I am to have had the opportunity to become acquainted with your outstanding family. I have been strengthened, uplifted and redirected as I have followed your sweet baby's difficult life. We are praying for your beautiful little girl!

As I read through these blogs it touches me that many have made comment that Gracie has touched their family in the short time she's been here. Maybe this is her mission. For us all to learn to be more compassionate and really learn what life is all about. I know it's done that for my family as my children have all kept you in their prayers. Brynn loves to look at the site and see the new pictures and says how cute Gracie is! I just wanted to tell you we are thinking of you all today and you are in our prayers. We love you. May you feel the Lord's spirit with you at this difficut time! Tom thanks for your wonderful message to your boys. It really touched Tanner. Love, Julie

Dear Gledhill Family:

Although we have never met, my wife and I have been following your family's story for the past few weeks. Our son, Ethan Curtis, was born on May 1, 2007 with HLHS. He has gone through his first two surgeries, with Dr. Hawkins performing both. I concur with all of the other posts that point out that there is something special about these little fighters.

I have wanted to post a comment for some time now, just to let you know that there was one more family that was praying for your family and your precious Gracie. I have been impressed by the strength of your faith, your family is an example to many. Good luck today, you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Hello, i don't know if you remember me, but my little Grace is in Primary's as well with HLHS. I'm very inspired by your sweet family and their faith. My entire family is praying for your little angel that she will be strong and healthy. We are also praying mightily for your little family that whatever happens you will find the peace that you must so desperately need. I pray that all will be as it should, which hopefully is a miracle.

She looks SO BIG and she has changed so much already. Pretty, as Tiffany said, is the word that came to my mind.

Tom, by the way, I wanted you to know how much your letter meant to Jordan. I printed it out so that he could hold on to it and refer to it often. I found him kneeling by his bed as he reread it again the other night. You are so special. Thank you.
