I got to hold Gracie again!! For two whole hours. She snuggled right in and was very content. It was great. They trialed her off the ventilator this afternoon and she was quite agitated. She cried (without sound) almost the whole time. It was actually kind of nice to see her act like a real baby. So she only lasted about 45 minutes. However, they trialed her again later tonight for an hour and she did really well.....slept right through it. So they call these her 'workouts'. No wonder, she is just like her mother.....she hates to work out and needs her sleep!!

Two whole hours! Now, that's progress! And it is good to hear she takes after you in more ways than just her good looks.:) Her little personality is shining through!
Oh! Michele! That's wonderful! I'm glad she's getting her workout...LOL
Thanks for having Max post. He has been in my thoughts and prayers also...I can just tell that he loves Gracie so much. What a good boy you've raised!
Go Gracie, you're a girl after my own heart!
Oh, and Michelle, I'm so glad you are getting a chance to hold your sweet little bundle! I'm sure she misses your heartbeat surrounding her.
With tears in my eyes & rolling down my cheek....
I can't believe you got to hold her TWICE this week! -Awesome!
It brings back memories for me when the only time I could hold my babies was to feed them. (Your situation is a lot different from mine) But, it was really hard... so, I'm just so Excited for you to FINALLY hold your Gracie! What a "special" moment that will be cherished forever!!! Thanks for sharing it with all of us Bloggers! I have fallen In LoVe with your family, & my faith in the Lord has grown more through your journey with Gracie.
THANK YOU!
I hope you get to hold her more often in the Future! (I'm sure you will!)

From someone who used to love to workout, I would take marathon trainging any day over the 'workouts' you and Gracie have been doing. I think her best spiritual medicine is being held by her mother. It makes me so---happy when I hear that you have been able to hold Gracie. Those moments when I have held my babies and been able to make them happy with just a little love are definetly some of my most cherished. I think if we (all the people who know you and Gracie) could, we would all stand in a very long line to have the chance to hold your Gracie and tell her we love her. It is so nice to know (with all she is going through) that she has the best mom, thats you Michele, to take care of her.
I can tell that you are a fabulous mother! It must have felt great to get some snuggling time with your sweet Gracie girl. Who needs to work out when you've got a new beautiful baby girl!
I got excited when I read that you were able to hold Gracie today. That bond between you and Gracie is so important in the healing process. I will always cherish the day before Gracie had her first surgery when I was able to sit in a rocking chair and hold our little Gracie. Looking into her eyes and feeling her warmth sent chills and goose bumps all over. I know each day Gracie is getting stronger. Tom and Michele your tender love and care for Gracie is such a big part of the care she needs. Max, Taylor, and Callie pray for their little sister in every prayer they offer.
Gracie, we Love You and can't wait to bring you home.
Love

Ryker would do really well at night with his trials, but during the day, it was almost like he did not like to show off so he would get agitated during the day with him. I hope she continues to work out her lungs and can get that nasty tube out of her throat! We still pray for her.
Hugs,
Mike and Emily
