Happy 3 Week Birthday!

Gracie looks really good this morning. We got a picture of her with her eyes open and one of me brushing her hair. Don't you love her brush? They continue to focus on her getting rid of all her extra fluid so she will be 'skinny' enough for them to close her chest. If she still is retaining too much fluid tomorrow then they will wait until later to close her. They are also working on her lungs still, trying to get them to clear up. They did have to give her a new 'art' line today. Yesterday, the art line in her arm stopped working. Last night, they poked around on her good wrist to try and thread a new one in but couldn't do it. They also tried her foot and were unsuccessful. That was a little frustrating to watch, in addition to seeing all of her unsuccessful battle wounds. This morning they got a specialist in here and he got it to thread right away on her foot, so all is well now. We are expecting a quiet day and hope that tomorrow they will be able to close her chest. I will post again tomorrow--thanks for your support!

What a great picture---so fun to see her with her eyes open!!! Yeah!!! Have to say I love the brush!! Oh, to have someone brush your hair for you. That is one of my most favorite things---too bad it doesn't happen very often. Anyway, great to see positive updates. I hope you and Tom are holding up ok. Please know that we are continuing our prayers!! :)

I was thinking the same thing! She looks so alert and healthy in that picture!

It's so hard to see them poking and not have a place because those tiny hands and feet are so poked up already. I'm glad that you get to help take care of her. I'm sure she loves to have your touch and the sound of your voice near.

She is lovely! What a beautiful photo. We will pray for more "liquid gold" (that is what they called Jacob's pee) so she can get her swelling down and chest closed.

Continuing to send hugs and prayers your way...

I wish I could help somehow...I really would do anything for your beautiful family...babysit, meals, whatever..

She looks soooo cute! She looks a little different to me today too, maybe it's just her eyes are open? anyway, she's a doll and were so happy she's having a boring day. I feel bad they had to poke her a few times, (I probably would have passed out watching that) I hope they develop a strong pain tolerance since they get poked so much! Have a great boring day!

Tom & Michele,
She looks so good! That tough little cookie! I hope everything goes well tomorrow to close her up. We'll pray extra hard. It's so fun to see her eyes open. I hope you and the other kids are hanging in there alright.
Lots of love,
Kim

Always nice to have the good news. I think the absence of bad news is also good news. Wonderful to how much better Gracie is doing. Still a long road, but, wow, look how far she has come. The brush is definately classic.

We are all so glad that baby Gracie is doing so well. With her eyes open she reminds me of Callie. She is beautiful. Hopefully her lungs will continue to clear and the swelling will continue to drop. I love the hair brushing picture. You have such pretty hands and you can see how gentle and sweet it was for the two of you. We hope and pray all will continue to go well.

Awwwww, she is so cute! It's hard to look passed all the tubes and bandages though. My heart aches for that little one. I'm sure you are able to see passed all that stuff, since you're seeing it everyday. But you can't deny those beautiful eyes looking back at you. I'm sure a sight for your sore eyes.
Still praying and hoping for the best! God bless those wonderful doctors and nurses!

SHE IS GORGEOUS. I mean it, what a charming face. I bet those moments are great when you can look her in the eyes and talk to her and know that she is seeing you and knowing you are mommy. (bytheway, my sister is the pharmacist up at Primary's and told me that she is the one dosing Gracie. Just so you know she is in great hands up there)

She looks really GOOD!

It's hard to see your baby get "poked" & "prauded" at! ~ All you can do is watch....

I'm glad things are on the up & up side... Now, we just need to get that chest closed! Good Luck tomorrow!

With Prayers,
