Here she is!! Our Gracie Girl without her breathing tube!! They
extubated her around 10:30 and so far, she is doing pretty good. The nurse held her upright and even though she looks sad, she really is happy! There has been no gagging but she has had her share of coughing, sneezing and crying. I got to hold her for a while and she even took a
binky! We are trying to get her to settle down and go to sleep so her heart rate and blood pressure will go down. Apparently she was awake ALL night
except for one hour. She has been awake the whole time I have been here too. She has got to be exhausted. We are hoping she will just relax and go to sleep but I think she is to excited to have that darn tube OUT! They continue to check her blood and if things start looking bad, they will put the tube back in. But, so far, so good! Keep praying for our sweet girl, thanks!
p.s. I forgot to say that they put a cannula in her nose to give her a little boost of oxygen to help her transition through the
extubation.

I am a stranger who lost a niece three years ago to a heart defect and I just wanted to comment on your beautiful little girl. I just want you to know that I cheer for every success and pray when your little one suffers a set back. May the Lord continue to bless your family and your little Miracle Gracie Girl.
Yeah!!!! After months of not holding Kaidence I was finally able to hold her after she was extubated. The doctors would not let us hold her because she was just to critical up until weeks after her berlin heart surgery. I wanted so badly to hold her before she went in for that surgery. WE are so happy for you and happy holding. She is changing so much. What a cutie!
Congratulations Sweetheart! We're still praying for you, Gracie!
That's such great news! I can see the family in the background smiling. :) Maybe after a nap she'll be smiling more too.

She is so sweet! and I think it's safe to say that we are all getting so attached to little Gracie. I hope and pray that this continues to be the start of a gradual but healthy recovery. You are such a sweet mom, Michelle. I feel my arms ache a bit when I hear you talk about how much you want to hold her.
I am praying for your Gracie Girl.

Good job Gracie! That was one big hurdle to get over. It's so fun to see her cute little mouth. We are always praying for her and for more and more good things to come. I bet it's even fun to hear the actual sound of her cry. I can't wait to tell the kids about this good news when they get home from school!

Congratulation Gracie, way to go!!! What a relief it must be to have that tube out. I would think crying, sneezing and coughing would be good lung exercise. What a blessing it is to witness the miracles and answered prayers with Gracie. Prayer for her has become a daily routine for me and I love praying for her.
